After a good night’s sleep in the sleepy town of Anahuac along the bay front we were awakened by the town’s roosters…..who make sure that no one sleeps in late!!! LOL! Making ourselves some hot coffee we walked to the dock to stay good-bye to this quaint little town and our unique little camping spot along the canal.
The road construction was quite bad along I-10…..very narrow lanes with no shoulders and barricades everywhere….so we decided to drive separately…..Dwight in the RV and Sharon in the Chevy Colorado. We hate having to be separate…but we kept both our cellphones on and chatted along the way…..pointing out interesting sights and gasping in dismay in unison while going through the horrible construction zones.
We stopped along the way to break up the trip…once at Buc’ees and once at a rest-stop to make a quick sandwich. We arrived at Traveler’s World RV Park in San Antonio around 4pm and setup camp. After a quick Walmart run to pick a few items…Yes…….we are now Walmart people!!! When you are RV’ing…..it is a necessity to be able to pick up items that you need …quick and easy. Sharon managed to convince Dwight to buy some Croc’s finally!! He is not a big fan but they are definitely a necessity when RV’ing. Something to quickly toss on and off as you are going in and out of the RV. We then made some great cheeseburgers on the Blackstone with fresh slaw and wine for dinner.
What ya’ thinking about Dwight???
Saying goodbye to Anahuac Texas….
Clearance on Masks at Buc’ees!!! Covid is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Quick Sandwich on the Road
Oh no……..We have become Walmart people now!!!!
Relaxing for the evening (Sharon isn’t crying……eyes are watering from cutting onions….LOL!
Meeting some new friends in the RV Park….A Group of Snowbirds from Wisconsin. We had a good discussion on where to get good Bratwursts outside of Wisconsin. The conclusion…….nowhere!!
